Hello to our readers, hope you've all had an amazing weekend...me and hippo did nothing spectacular except bicker and fight a bit other than that i attended a mehendi on friday and a wedding the next night before which me and my mum took a short trip to the market because she wanted to buy some shoes and some matching fabric, after which we went to Agha's because we were dangerously short on cat food and other things here and there. I had my entire month's pocket money left over and again that caused the burning sensation so I listened to my heart and bought a 1 favorite item and a few to review. Oh and these were purchased during 2 separate trips. Last weekend I had bought the shampoo, conditioner and Sudocrem. So yeah products are ranging from body to hair to face.
To start of, I am a huge St Ives fan and I mean HUGE. I mean to me they are practically the poor man's Body Shop (I have a bit of wish list I'll soon ramble about in another post) as they have a bit of a similar range of products that smell AMAZING and have really good combination of ingredients. I am a particular fan of their Swiss Vanilla body lotion which this time I saw in Almond and other varieties. their scrub which is a cult favorite also comes for different skin types and ingredients from apricot to apricot and olives to apricot with salicylic acid (acne-fighting agent) and most lovingly purchased and used by me is their Body Wash with oatmeal and shea butter for PKR 385 from Agha's Supermarket. Oh my God this was an absolute blessing in the winter months as my skin was papery and weird, using this made it supple and sweet smelling and using the Swiss Vanilla over it kept it soft and supple! I am a huge fan of moisturizing products that smell nice and sweet like cake dough or a bakery, hehehehe weird I know but either this or absolute clean smelling things are what i prefer. Back to the body wash, it's made of natural ingredients which are good for skin (oats are good for removing blemishes and marks, shea butter moisturizes and protects from furthher dryness), very moisturizing in the shower as it doesn't completely wash off infact leaving a bare thin film of moisture for your skin to absorb. Luxurious for me to use with all my sweet smelling things, leaves me feeling like a cupcake!
The lotion honestly is a discovery purchase, I saw Dove, I saw shea butter, I saw dry skin all on the bottle and it was mine for PKR 245 from Agha's Supermarket. I don't suffer from dry skin but unusually my skin has not recovered from the harsh winters this year so I made this purchase also I wanted to buy something new, didn't buy the St Ives one because I couldn't find the Swiss Vanilla one, though I am thinking seriously about buying the almond one...must smell so yummy! But then again this one is awesome too! Skin absorbs it fast and leaves a glow I tell ya I had a spa night on Saturday after I came back home, love using my new goodies!
Got this before this weekend on a short trip to EBCO for PKR 170 each with my Bro and my Mum (it was a meat emergency) and I blame Shilpa Shetty for this. No I don't think she has amazing hair in the advert but the advert itself is so persistent. Like ON all of the time, so yeah I decided to buy this since I need multiple shampoos to switch between and after 3 years I had finally begun to run out of the purchases I had made due to the publicity sucking it. I have used it this duo so here is a mini review. DO NOT look at the price and think 'this is cheap, it's probably gonna damage my hair' on the contrary the shampoo itself is so moisturizing and lather some that I didn't even feel the need use the conditioner, yep the product was in my hair, washed off smoothly and my hair didn't have knots or bumps, they were shiny and smooth...yeah that's all I know up till now, will do an in depth review of this duo and let you know.
I bought a bit of skin care stuff, I have been neglecting my skin for quite some time now and decided to end this last month when I made a pretty heavy purchase from here, after that I felt I still need a few somethings to takecare of a few problems I have been suffering. Got 'Clinagel' for PKR 100 from the medicine counter at Agha's supermarket after reading a review here and hearing from my friend that her dermatologist suggested she use the agent (clindamycin). I suffer from mild acne but the real problem with me is uneven skin tone, scarring and tiny bumps near my jaw line which i absolutely despise. After my special time of the month though this time I had zit festival on my face so I bought this considering the price point too, will definitely give, own review on it though.
I also got Sudocrem from EBCO for PKR 290 (tiniest jar) for the same purpose, after reading multiple reviews which raved that this was a solution to most skin problems I thought I'd give it a go for the 'dryness' on my facial area, will review of course!
Lastly I bought the Witch Hazel toner for my skin too from Agha's Supermarket for PKR 395. To be honest, this was an impulsive purchase. I've read that Ayurveda recommends witch hazel for skin problems and since it's all natural I decided to give it a go and bought cotton pads to accompany it and you bet there will be review!
So yeah I know this is a bore, highly immature pictures from me, essentials and drabby packaging usually is boring, never the less keep checking out this blog for reviews coming up and few chats on other topics aside, also I'm hoping Hippo Might finally write a post too! He is busy with *certain* preparations which will be soon taking up my time too in the near future ;) other than that I am on the hunt for an oatmeal almond scrub which is readily available to use from the supermarket so if any of you have any suggestions I'd love to know. We'll be taking this blog a day at a time. Takecare lovelies, bye!
