I spent some cash..

Hello to our readers, hope you've all had an amazing weekend...me and hippo did nothing spectacular except bicker and fight a bit other than that i attended a mehendi on friday and a wedding the next night before which me and my mum took a short trip to the market because she wanted to buy some shoes and some matching fabric, after which we went to Agha's because we were dangerously short on cat food and other things here and there. I had my entire month's pocket money left over and again that caused the burning sensation so I listened to my heart and bought a 1 favorite item and a few to review. Oh and these were purchased during 2 separate trips. Last weekend I had bought the shampoo, conditioner and Sudocrem. So yeah products are ranging from body to hair to face.

To start of, I am a huge St Ives fan and I mean HUGE. I mean to me they are practically the poor man's Body Shop (I have a bit of wish list I'll soon ramble about in another post) as they have a bit of a similar range of products that smell AMAZING and have really good combination of ingredients. I am a particular fan of their Swiss Vanilla body lotion which this time I saw in Almond and other varieties. their scrub which is a cult favorite also comes for different skin types and ingredients from apricot to apricot and olives to apricot with salicylic acid (acne-fighting agent) and most lovingly purchased and used by me is their Body Wash with oatmeal and shea butter for PKR 385 from Agha's Supermarket. Oh my God this was an absolute blessing in the winter months as my skin was papery and weird, using this made it supple and sweet smelling and using the Swiss Vanilla over it kept it soft and supple! I am a huge fan of moisturizing products that smell nice and sweet like cake dough or a bakery, hehehehe weird I know but either this or absolute clean smelling things are what i prefer. Back to the body wash, it's made of natural ingredients  which are good for skin (oats are good for removing blemishes and marks, shea butter moisturizes and protects from furthher dryness), very moisturizing in the shower as it doesn't completely wash off infact leaving a bare thin film of moisture for your skin to absorb. Luxurious for me to use with all my sweet smelling things, leaves me feeling like a cupcake!

The lotion honestly is a discovery purchase, I saw Dove, I saw shea butter, I saw dry skin all on the bottle and it was mine for PKR 245 from Agha's Supermarket. I don't suffer from dry skin but unusually my skin has not recovered from the harsh winters this year so I made this purchase also I wanted to buy something new, didn't buy the St Ives one because I couldn't find the Swiss Vanilla one, though I am thinking seriously about buying the almond one...must smell so yummy! But then again this one is awesome too! Skin absorbs it fast and leaves a glow I tell ya I had a spa night on Saturday after I came back home, love using my new goodies!

Got this before this weekend on a short trip to EBCO for PKR 170 each with my Bro and my Mum (it was a meat emergency) and I blame Shilpa Shetty for this. No I don't think she has amazing hair in the advert but the advert itself is so persistent. Like ON all of the time, so yeah I decided to buy this since I need multiple shampoos to switch between and after 3 years I had finally begun to run out of the purchases I had made due to the publicity sucking it. I have used it this duo so here is a mini review. DO NOT look at the price and think 'this is cheap, it's probably gonna damage my hair' on the contrary the shampoo itself is so moisturizing and lather some that I didn't even feel the need use the conditioner, yep the product was in my hair, washed off smoothly and my hair didn't have knots or bumps, they were shiny and smooth...yeah that's all I know up till now, will do an in depth review of this duo and let you know.

I bought a bit of skin care stuff, I have been neglecting my skin for quite some time now and decided to end this last month when I made a pretty heavy purchase from here, after that I felt I still need a few somethings to takecare of a few problems I have been suffering. Got 'Clinagel' for PKR 100 from the medicine counter at Agha's supermarket after reading a review here and hearing from my friend that her dermatologist suggested she use the agent (clindamycin). I suffer from mild acne but the real problem with me is uneven skin tone, scarring and tiny bumps near my jaw line which i absolutely despise. After my special time of the month though this time I had zit festival on my face so I bought this considering the price point too, will definitely give, own review on it though.

I also got Sudocrem from EBCO for PKR 290 (tiniest jar)  for the same purpose, after reading multiple reviews which raved that this was a solution to most skin problems I thought I'd give it a go for the 'dryness' on my facial area, will review of course!

Lastly I bought the Witch Hazel toner for my skin too from Agha's Supermarket for PKR 395. To be honest, this was an impulsive purchase. I've read that Ayurveda recommends witch hazel for skin problems and since it's all natural I decided to give it a go and bought cotton pads to accompany it and you bet there will be review!

So yeah I know this is a bore, highly immature pictures from me, essentials and drabby packaging usually is boring, never the less keep checking out this blog for reviews coming up and few chats on other topics aside, also I'm hoping Hippo Might finally write a post too! He is busy with *certain* preparations which will be soon taking up my time too in the near future ;) other than that I am on the hunt for an oatmeal almond scrub which is readily available to use from the supermarket so if any of you have any suggestions I'd love to know. We'll be taking this blog a day at a time. Takecare lovelies, bye!

Rose Gold.

The title defines my subject for today. I have been observing the rose gold trend internationally for quite a while now and believe me at first I thought it's just a fancy name for bronze-y things and wouldn't go with my skin tone and too expensive to invest in and the list of excuses went on. Till one day while browsing I saw this watch and understood the hype. three syllables and teensy weensy bit of saliva rolling down my lips confirmed that a) this is so not bronze and b) I so need it in my life even if it doesn't end up suiting me. Yet i had a few doubts.

Till I saw Nicole Kidman in this ad with the Omega on her wrist. That's when i was completely sold, don't know if all the elements in the ad (the blush colored walls, her flow-y blush-y dress, tousled hair etc) played with my head or it was the actual watch but all I know is that this is constantly on my mind.

Omega

After all it's not just watches  in which rose gold is making appearances but also...

Rose gold bangles

Rose gold bracelet with a blush colored jewel

Rose gold cuff

Even bags started opting for delicate rose gold details in the forms of zippers, buckles and bases. A particular one on my ever changing list is..

Zara bag, current season

It is so pretty, just my style in the form of the boxy shape, roomy on the inside, black and star of the show Rose gold. Even cosmetics have taken up the trend. Remember the metallic nail polish trend, well for that Orly came out with a gorgeous color that put the rest of the colors in that collection on the back seat of the bus!

Orly 'Rage'

Pretty!!! Could'nt get my hands on it though, it was limited edition and only available in the US. So I have ordered the closest dupes from BeautyUk's posh polish collections of 'gemstone' and 'foil' shown below through http://www.facebook.com/beautyunleashed11?sk=info. These were reviewed by Sara Hassan Here and Here. Obviously this goes to show that I don't let go of things easily.

'Bronze'  foil finish

'Sunstone' gemstone finish

Rose gold color is also available in...

Mac skin finish in 'Super' limited collection

So totally need that and check out the gorgeous packaging here in Elizabeth Arden's Rose Aurora collection, the inside is superb and so is the outside. Worth every single penny for anyone who has purchased.

So yeah...told you there are gonna obsessive ramblings over here, rose gold is definitely on my list to get and the only thing that stops me is that whether its just a trendy piece or is it gonna last long on the scene. Nevertheless I love how this is being used in so many ways and in so many pieces, you can see a few picks on my Fashiolista page too! Anyway I would love to know your opinions about this, have you got a piece already or are you looking for one? Takecare!

Spring nails haul

So one night I was sitting and browsing the Luscious Cosmetics website in one of those moods when its absolutely necessary to purchase anything, I know sounds likes a compulsive shopper but then I'm sure we all have those phases when the money in our wallets is burning, aching to come out practically screaming "Spend me Spend me!". There you have it, a background.

So...I was browsing and there were a number of options I wanted to see having read on a few blogs about their moisturizing lip sticks and lip glosses but then my mood was more quantity oriented so the price point of their nail polishes permitted me to purchase.

with flash (starting from left : Cotton Candy, Sand Dune, Cybil, Ballet Slippers, French Beach)

without flash

As the choice shows, except for the red I was more in the mood for the french manucure-ish colors, thats because in my collections I have the purples and blues along with metallics except but I was hunting for the red which wasn't tomato-ish but in fact made wearing red look sophisticated and fine. Other than this the pink-ish and white-ish shades were so pretty that I needed them with me after looking at so many pales and nudes on the international runways.

The formula of these nail polishes is really nice and runny which i like because is makes its layering neat and not goopy, also what I loved most was that the formula's of all 5 polishes were exactly the same. Other than this I can't give much opinion because I have tried them other than swatching yet but yeah I'm excited to try them in depth and give you a proper review. But seriously, I love keeping them all in front of in front of me and staring because I'm anticipating a clean ballerina-esque look that's neutral and sophisticated.

I purchased these from www.iloveluscious.com and received them 2 days later for Rs 225 each and free delivery on an order exceeding Rs 1000 =) i love such deals! Hope you all get to avail this too! Take care.

Hello! *waving hand*

Hi, firstly I'll thank God for this first post which I've been procrastinating for the longest time! Seriously made the account, twitter and blog all back in December thinking I need to design it, I need to get it that professional look yada yada etc etc, well then i was gifted a laptop earlier this week and before Junaid gave me a telling off over my laziness and excuses to justify everything I thought I'd give this blog a few personal touches and get it professionalized later on if my progress goes well. In other words 'i just got off my bum!'

Now, my proper intro. I'm Ayesha Salim and Junaid Ahmed is my bestest friend who is responsible for pushing me towards writing about things I love and which matter to me (both superficial and non superficial). I am a BBA graduate in Finance and gave that up entirely to take up learning French. Yep. No regrets. Anyway, giving up Finance and meeting Hippo a year before that I came out more and more out of shell, he encouraged me and i talked and talked of everything girly before which I used to be tomboyish to the world and my brothers while secretly watching 'how to do a smoky eye' on youtube. Yep. After tonnes of pushes, shoves (all after gentle encouragements) from Hippo I'm here. I like makeup and the aspect of making yourself look bolder through a bright lippie or adding color through blush and add some tease through mascara. i love clothing but of a different kind and lastly a passion Hippo and I both share is love for animals. Immense love. Which brings me to the point that i have 2 cats, Fudge and Jelly and Hippo has an African grey parrot Tutu. And...what else what else...i guess things will be revealed as this blog goes further which hopefully I'll able to do in spite of my laziness and Kingdom of Procrastination. Hope it becomes a getaway where i can truly engage with my readers over similar interests. So keep on reading as for this purpose i had bought a whole lot of things from here and there to review and show and love/ hate....starting tomorrow which is I hope I am able to grab your interest and communicate with you on mutual grounds. Till then toodles!
